Meet Our Volunteers

At Kingston Farmers Market, our volunteers are the driving force behind our vibrant community. With their dedication and passion, they transform our market into a welcoming place for everyone.

From behind-the-scenes setup to engaging interactions with visitors, each volunteer contributes in unique ways to our market’s success. On this page, you’ll find profiles of the individuals who make the Kingston Farmers Market more than just a shopping destination – they make it a celebration of community and local goodness.

Explore their stories and join us in honoring the people who make our market a cherished weekly tradition. Thank you to all our volunteers!

Where can people find you at the Market?

All over the place actually! Sometimes at the Welcome Booth, gathering peeps for workshops, participating in our theme games…..and of course for tear down.

What do you do on non-market days?

I work full time in the Commercial Insurance Industry. Other than work….I love to garden, walk my Border Collie Katy, knit socks, go camping, sit with the ocean and occasionally ride on the back of my bf’s Harley.

Favourite thing about the Kingston Farmer’s Market?

The sense of community….which was my main reason for volunteering. I’ve met so many wonderful patrons, vendors and fellow volunteers. It is an absolute pleasure to see these familiar faces week and week…..and feel a sense of belonging. (TMI? LOL)

Where can people find you at the Market?

I do a lot of the Pre- Market set up, like putting up tents, tables and chairs and some of the heavy lifting like moving pallets and power boxes. After that, I also welcome and show the amazing vendors where their tables are for that week, and help them set up when/if needed.

What do you do on non-market days?

I work shift at Michelin in their maintenance department as a technician. When I am not there you can often find me with my handsome doggo Kirby, in the woods camping and hiking, on the water kayaking and fishing, or taking care of the homestead.

Favourite thing about the Kingston Farmer’s Market?

My favorite thing about the Market has been meeting all of the wonderful vendors, and seeing our community come together to enjoy all the food, entertainment, and workshops every week. It has been a truly special experience being a part of it all.

Where can people find you at the Market?

I like to do a lot of the early behind the scenes set up- putting up tents, moving tables and chairs, and helping to get vendors in their spots. When the market opens, I’m often at the Welcome tent or ringing a bell and letting everyone know what is happening in our workshops!

What do you do on non-market days?

I’m a casual EA for the public schools in the area, and I love to hike and take photos.

Favourite thing about the Kingston Farmer’s Market?

I LOVE the sense of community, and watching all the people enjoying themselves on Market days…seeing them sitting and listening to the musicians on stage, talking to vendors, and spending time with their families and friends!  Market day is my favourite day of the week!

Where can people find you at the Market?

I am mostly found during market set up, vendor assisting, the welcome.booth or wandering around with a clipboard so Sarah and Lauren think I’m busy, but I’m really checking out the vendors!

What do you do on non-market days?

I am a mom to 5, soon to be student again and nature lover! I enjoy being by water when at all possible either kayaking , rock hounding or just enjoying the vibes !

Favourite thing about the Kingston Farmer’s Market?

Aside from volunteering with some of the best people, I love getting to know the vendors and trying their products! I love seeing community together, and how amazing the whole atmosphere is! It’s hard not to smile at the market!
